Ecological Walk 4 Days


"ECOLOGICAL WALK: Native family Gamitana, Project Taricaya , Lake Valencia, Island Rolin"

DAY 1:
Arrival to Puerto Maldonado, Capital of the biodiversity of Peru. Reception at the airport by our dear Saturnino.

Then we will direct to the Port of navigation to go on board in the boat through the river Madre de Dios, During the trip we will plunge in a natural environmentwhere we will watch in the shore, people with their fishing canes, some species of typical birds from the shore of the river as Rayadores, Playeritos, Garzas Coronadas, Jabirus, Halcones, and some species of Martín Pescadores, Golondrinas and Atrapamoscas, besides this the weather is hot with a good sun we will watch in the shore some alligators and we will watch butterflies in the shore of the river.

We will follow to the native community of Gamitana, that still holds in good part its costumes, myth and ritual behaviours we will make a small living together with them.

These communities are a plenty space of secrets, knowledge and of an harmonious interaction between man and the jungle. As an integrating part of a whole called world.

On board - towards the crack of Lake Valencia there we will camp and will end with our dinner.

DAY 2:
The dawn of the second day. we sail during 60 minutes by this crack up to the overflowed Lake Valencia that in its waters hosts a variety of species of fishes, for example the Paiche, also the playing pirañas that are tasty for the consumption.
We will become craftfishers, with our tackles of craft fishing (hooks, a small net (optional) we will throw our hooks with good balt, thus we will wait to fish something with which we will have our breakfast.

Possibility of taking a bath an d a walk by row over the whole lake. Return to the river.

Bajo Madre de Dios with direction to a community family that lives at the shore of this river or to a beach where we will spend the night in our tents and prepare our dinner.

At every moment you will be full of information, advices, anecdotes, curiosities from the jungle, other topics with the expert guide of the Peruvian jungle of Madre de Dios Saturnino.

Night that we will leave by the night to watch alligators.

We will sleep with our nets in a typical house.

DAY 3:
Return by the crack of this lake towards the Bajo Madre de Dios river with direction or towards the Biological Center of Rescue for animals " TARICAYA".

CENTRO TARICAYA (this Project, with the main settlement in the United Kingdom, counts with the colaboration of Universities of all the world, from where volunteering students arrive to colaborate with the care and reintroduction of injuried animal sor rescued ones from the black market to its jungle of origin).

The name of the center "Taricaya" is ought to the Project of protection for the turtles or river or "taricayas". Lunch. Free time having the opportunity to talk with the resident volunteers. Here we will be able to watch different species of animals:
jaguar, varieties of monkeys (monos), tapir, pecarí and some exotic birds as the "trompetero." To this place are brought sick or injured animals, that have been rescued from the black market or have been found in the jungle, with the goal of curing them and returning them to their natural environment.

Canopy Walk (a hanging bridge that goes up at 42 m of height and 90 m of length for the monitoreo of birds.).

The project counts with a Canopy Walk (a hanging bridge that ascends to 42m height and 90 m of lenghth, for the monitoreo of birds).
Trekking of 30 minutes in the primary forest up to the Canopy-Walk.

After climbing the first tower of 14 m, we walk over the hanging bridge (Canopy Walk), ascending to a platform of 42 m of height from where to enjoy of a panoramic and extraordinary sight over the jungle. The trees seen from above, the wrapping sound of the jungle beneath our feet, the green that extends up to where the sight reaches; few times we will have the opportunity to enjoy a contact with the forest so extraordinary.

Trip of return towards the city of Puerto Maldonado, camped at an ahour of distance in an island.

DAY 4:
A short walk very early in this island, we will watch its ecology at the dawn, sailing in the boat-lancha and trip of return to Puerto Maldonado. Transfer to the airport.

It includes:

" Meals ( during the whole tour)
" 3 nights in camping (in the beach or at an indigenist family.)
